Short on Space? Get Creative!
It’s no easy task to gain / maintain room to get things done, when living in an RV and big holidays, like Thanksgiving, don’t make it any easier. HOWEVER! there are helpful solutions to get you through without going crazy or feeling claustrophobic.
The most popular suggestion that over time I have come across is to not make yourself a slave to the typical cooking supplies. It’s likely that there won’t be enough room for everything if you’re relying solely on your oven & stove, but if you include other cooking appliances, such as a crock-pot or your grill, not only will this give you more room to move around, but also it’ll cut down on your cook-time.
Prep-work for the WIN!
Although it is time consuming at first, the reality of prepping as much of your meal as possible, especially if you’re a full-time RVer, is going to be your best bet & once again, cuts down on your cook-time. On the day of your dinner, be sure to have some table space dedicated to your prep supplies alone, making sure it’s easier for you to reach and get to cooking. Now comes the big kicker of after you’ve finished cooking! You’ve taken the time, everything is smelling delicious and everyone is ready chow down, but wait, where will you sit? Normally your kitchen in the RV is in the same area as your seating setup and I doubt you want to clean the kitchen before getting to sit down and eat. To solve this, why not join up with everyone outside & sit at the picnic tables available, along with some long tables of your own that maybe you keep handy for space saving sake.
